It all started a few years ago when I first discovered Sally’s Baking Addiction after searching endlessly for the perfect chocolate chip pumpkin bread. That first delicious bite into a warm slice of gooey pumpkin bread was the start of a serious blogging love-affair. (P.S. her recipe is still BY FAR the best pumpkin bread there is. You should probably just go make it right now.)
I started reading as many food blogs as I could get my hands on. My Pinterest started blowing up with recipe after recipe of pancakes and easy week-night meals. Soon, I started branching out to blogs about fashion, beauty, fitness, faith, and more. I’m continuously drawn to the healthy-living, wellness, and food blogs. Many of my favorite blogs are by registered dietitians. I’ve loved following along on my favorite bloggers lives, getting to know them, and learning from them. My favorite bloggers are the ones that are vulnerable and thrive off of connecting with their readers. I think it goes without saying, but… I love blogs.
I’ve been wanting to start a blog for as long as I can remember; and in fact, I’ve started two, but they’ve never quite stuck. The truth is I’ve been scared of what other people think about it and negative thoughts have plagued my mind for years. I’ve finally decided to take that leap of faith, ditch any gimmicky name I could come up, and just start writing.
I didn’t want to be bound down by some cutesy blog name. Who I am today isn’t who I’ll be in 5 years. Courtney Glausi is my name and that’s not changing any time soon.
I want to start by being clear about my intentions with starting this website. First of all, this website is just for fun. I’m not looking to be the next big food blog or wellness-guru. I hope to share, connect, and inspire.
Next, I’m not claiming to be a gourmet chef or an expert on the mind, body, and spirit. All I know is what I have discovered through my own research and trial and error. I’ll point you to the pros when necessary.
Lastly, you’re not going to find perfection here. NONE. The blogging world has enough of it already. I want to be real and share my joys as equally as my struggles. The last thing I EVER want anyone to be is envious of a life it looks like I’m living on the internet. If that means my blog isn’t as popular as the girl with perfectly crafted images, so be it.
(Although I do love my smoothie bowls…)
What you’ll find here
I plan to talk about all things mind, body, and spirit as I learn more about them each day. Self-care tips, mental health talk, and mindfulness inspiration will occur regularly, as well as occasional recipes, spiritual things, and life-updates. I anticipate life changing a lot in the next few years as my husband and I journey through our early 20s. We both have a lot ahead of us with our careers and goals. It’s going to be an exciting time and I want a place to document it, connect with others, and learn along the way.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope this will be a place of inspiration, peace, and community.
Until next time,
