With just SEVEN days left until we move to NYC, I’m so excited to announce that I’ve accepted a job at Manhattan School of Music! I’ll be working as the Administrative Assistant in the Office of the President.
I’m thrilled to work begin working closely with President James Gandre, the Board of Trustees, and various Advisory Boards, as well as the entire staff and student body, at one of the premier music conservatories in the world. I start on February 19th!
My excitement for my new job doesn’t come without heartache for leaving my current job… I started as an intern at Eugene Symphony in 2014. Three years later I landed my “dream” job after graduating working as the Executive Operations Assistant. It’s been the best year and a half at the Symphony. I’m going to miss working with the most inspiring and hardworking coworkers and Board of Directors who work tirelessly to support the arts in our community.
My wonderful coworkers threw me a party during my last week of work and got me beautiful flowers and a cute map of Eugene with notes. I’m spoiled.
I ended my job at Eugene Symphony over the weekend. My final day of work was at our annual Gala. It was fun to get all dolled up! We managed to get nice pictures thanks to a good friend… thanks, Laura! 🙂
We’ve also been enjoying some of our favorite food in Eugene. I have to say… I’m SO excited for all of the amazing restaurants in NYC. If anyone has any favorites, send them my way!
Leaving Eugene feels really surreal. I don’t think it’s really going to hit me until we’re actually driving out of town. It’s been such a transformative place for me and I know it’s going to hit me hard. I’m looking forward to all of the growth I’ll experience in the coming years in New York.
This week will be full of packing up and getting ready to go and saying goodbye to friends and family. We officially leave Eugene next Sunday and fly out to NYC bright and early Monday morning. I’m looking forward to spending time with my in-laws and my family one last week in Eugene!
For those of you in Eugene and want to say goodbye, feel free to call me and stop by anytime! We’d love to see you.
Next time I’ll check back in here, I’ll be in NEW YORK! Crazy. Wish us luck.
